Wednesday night, over 250 people packed the Mill Valley Community Center in an inspiring display of support for a safe, flat, car-free connection between our communities! Those in attendance were treated to the premiere of Closing the Gap, our video highlighting the incredible opportunity offered by Alto Tunnel. If you missed out, you can watch it now!

There are several steps you can take today to help us build on this momentum as we enter the next phase of our efforts to reopen Alto Tunnel:

1) Spread the word. Share our video with your network. We just posted it to our Facebook page here.

2) Get involved. Friends of Alto Tunnel is an all-volunteer group, which means we’re always looking for talented, dedicated tunnel supporters to help lead the charge. If you’re interested in getting involved with Friends of Alto Tunnel leadership, please send a note to friendsofaltotunnel@gmail.com.

3) Do you live near the tunnel? The neighborhoods closest to the tunnel will be crucial to our success. If you live in the Horse Hill, Scott Valley, or Chapman Park neighborhoods, please take 30 seconds to update your information (we added a new question to our subscription form) and we’ll follow-up with you.

4) Give. Following Wednesday’s successful event, two Friends of Alto Tunnel leaders have challenged our supporters to match them up to $10,000 for the next phase of our campaign! Your gift will directly support grassroots efforts to deliver our call to action to our elected officials and the general public. Donate here and they’ll double your impact.

We’re grateful to the entire Marin County Bicycle Coalition staff, our volunteers, Corte Madera Mayor Bob Ravasio, David MacPherson, all of those involved in our film production, everyone who attended, and especially those who donated to help cover costs. Thanks for making Wednesday night so special.

Onward!

Sincerely,
Friends of Alto Tunnel
